Manager of Emotions

Emotions are governed by the Moon. Astrologically, it is always the Moon that influences and calms our soul.

The position of the Moon at the time of birth determines the characteristic features we inherit from our ancestors and families. Additionally, the Moon guides a person's familial issues. Our inherited traits greatly influence our emotional responses and psychological development, even if we are not aware of it.


While the Sun creates our external appearance and main character traits, the Moon relates to our inner world. The Moon rules the sign of Cancer. Or it is said that the Moon is dignified in Cancer. If the Moon is in Cancer in a birth chart, the issues related to the house where the Moon is placed will come to the forefront. These can be easily mastered. Since Cancer naturally starts from the 4th house in the zodiac, the Moon is strong in the 4th house.


A planet functions detrimentally in the sign of the zodiac opposite to the one it rules. This position is called detriment. The Moon is detrimental in Capricorn and the 10th house. The Moon completes its orbit around the Earth in approximately 28 days, changing signs every 2.5 days. As it moves through the signs, it forms various aspects with the planets. Due to its movement of 1 degree every 2 or 2.5 hours, its influence on each planet lasts for a few hours. When it approaches the final degrees of a sign, it can form its final aspect with another celestial body. At this point, when the Moon does not make any aspects, it is called "void of course" until it enters a new sign. The Moon carries the emotions of the sign it enters each day, thus serving as the emotional messenger of the day. It governs instincts. After visiting all the planets, the Moon rests for a while, a time when many people experience a period of uncertainty, confusion, or even chaos. During this time, the plans or decisions you make may not yield results.


The more traditional definition of a void of course Moon is that "Nothing will come of this. This statement holds some truth. During the void of course Moon period, actions taken will either be wrong or irrelevant. It is a time wasted. It is not an ideal time, especially for meeting a new person or making a job application, as the information needed to make the right decision may be missing or overlooked. This period is not considered suitable for starting new plans astrologically. However, routine tasks or projects that have already been started may proceed successfully.
